Gear that works up here

Fat-bike pogies and layers

Real winter riding at −10 °F needs pogies over the bars and boots you can walk in. See our backcountry and fire-camp kits for the layers.

Bear spray on the bike

Carry it in a holster on the frame or hip belt, not in the pack. Our kits list proven canisters.
