Overview
Anchorage Parks & Rec manages Kincaid as a 1,400-acre park with about 60 km of trails. Singletrack Advocates (STA) built the singletrack in two phases, 9 mi in 2011 and 7 mi in 2014. The muni's singletrack map shows the loops and the trail-use rules.
Rules and closures
Land manager: Municipality of Anchorage Parks & Recreation (Anchorage Parks & Rec: Kincaid Park).
- Bikers yield to hikers and to uphill traffic (muni singletrack map).
- Stay off the trails when they're muddy.
- Bolling Alley runs one-way, alternating by date: clockwise on even dates, counter-clockwise on odd dates.
- No horses or motorized vehicles.
Season and winter fat biking
Summer singletrack. Winter riding only off the Nordic ski trails.
The Nordic ski trails are closed to bikes and foot traffic in winter. Cross them only at designated crossings, and yield to skiers. Check the muni map and posted signs for any winter-open singletrack before riding a fat bike here.
Winter riding near avalanche terrain: check our avalanche conditions page first.
Bears
Anchorage Parks & Rec says black and brown bears and moose roam the park. Make noise on blind corners, and don't stop near carcasses or moose calves.
